Matt and Alexis Iaconis had the desire to help fight climate change and create a cleaner world.

Delta, meaning change, was born out of our desire to create a platform to make a difference in the fight to protect our planet. We partner with organizations dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment such as cleaning up our oceans and reducing CO2 emissions. We offset the carbon footprint our winery creates.

Along with our enthusiasm for making delicious wines, we are also passionate about preserving our natural world and planet, and supporting organizations that are working against climate change. We donate a portion of sales from each bottle sold to our important partners the Surfrider Foundation and Cool Effects. Your belief in our wine, and your dedication to improving our environment has allowed us to give $75k in our first five years. Thank you for enjoying our wine and making the world a better place for all people present and future.

After seven years of producing wine for their winery Brick & Mortar, the couple created Delta for Environmental Change in 2018 so that they could make a positive change in the environment through donations to non-profit companies such as the Surfrider Foundation and Cool Effect, which are both based in California, but have global reach in their work. For every bottle of Delta that is sold, a percentage of profits is donated to the two foundations. Matt and Alexis live and make wine in Sonoma County, California with their three children. We are a family of six living and producing wine in Healdsburg, California

Winemaker and owner Matt Iaconis has always had an affinity for hard work and getting his hands dirty. Born and raised in Sacramento, Matt attended world-renowned University of California Davis. After taking an elective winemaking class while playing football and studying aeronautical engineering, Matt was hooked. After he obtained his Viticulture and Enology degree, Matt worked in and travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Italy and France, where he spent extended periods of time in Burgundy, learning the ins and the outs of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay prior to returning home to focus on his newly formed winery Brick & Mortar wines, founded in 2011. Matt has spent time working harvests at Antica Napa Valley, Kim Crawford New Zealand, Cape Mentelle in Australia, and Justin Vineyards in Paso Robles. Matt founded Delta for Environmental Change in 2019 with his wife Alexis.

Born in Georgia and raised in Massachusetts, Alexis spent twenty years working in the restaurant and hospitality business. She pursued a career as a chef and attended The Culinary Institute of America in New York. While working in Napa Valley in 2004 as a culinary intern, Alexis discovered wine. Alexis spent ten years working as a sommelier in wine country, and achieved the Advanced Sommelier Certificate form the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2012. While working as the wine director for Michelin Three Star The Restaurant at Meadowood in Napa Valley, Alexis met young winemaker Matt Iaconis who she married in 2014. Alexis has also worked as sales manager for Copain and Hyde de Villaine wineries and now manages sales for the couple’s two wineries Brick & Mortar and Delta.

We’re here to do our part in order to protect our planet so it continues to thrive for generations to come.
